Grade 11 Assembly: Fencing Sharing

During the juniors assembly on May 8, Shane from 11-4 introduced his peers to the dynamic sport of fencing during the assembly at Xianmian Auditorium. His engaging presentation covered the fundamentals of the sport, including the three weapon types—foil, épée, and sabre—and their distinct rules.




Using video clips of competitive matches, Shane demonstrated the speed and precision required in fencing, highlighting its blend of athleticism and strategy. He explained key moves like lunges and parries, emphasizing that fencing is as much about mental agility as physical skill. The presentation captivated students, many of whom had never seen fencing before. His clear explanations and exciting visuals left a strong impression, sparking curiosity among his classmates.


By shedding light on this lesser-known sport, Shane’s sharing not only educated but also inspired others to explore new interests.
