Alumni Return: Echoes of Growth and Joy

May 19, 2025

In recent weeks, many SHSID alumni have returned to campus to reconnect with teachers and share updates on their academic, personal, and professional journeys.

On May 13, Ethan Li and Jessie Li, graduates of the Class of 2024, returned to their alma mater for a visit. They warmly reunited with their former teachers and shared exciting news about their academic paths.

In March, Ethan applied for a university transfer. Thanks to his outstanding academic performance, excellent IB diploma results, and extensive extracurricular involvement, he received offers in early May from several top-tier universities, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Duke University, and Columbia University. He plans to pursue his studies in Physics and History. Jessie also achieved impressive results in her transfer applications, receiving offers from both Columbia University and Duke University, where she intends to pursue a double major in Computer Science and Film Studies.

Notably, both Ethan and Jessie have been students at SHSID since Grade 1 and they are the only set of twins among the 31 twelve-year students in the class of 2024. At the graduation ceremony, they presented a commemorative gift to the school as student representatives. Let’s extend our warmest congratulations to them both, and wish them the very best in their future endeavours!
