Grade 11 Assembly: Application Information Session from the Seniors

June 6, 2025

On May 30, graduating seniors visited each junior homeroom during the morning P&B session to share their experiences, insights, and advice on the college application process. This session provided juniors with valuable and insightful information about their college applications for the upcoming year.

To begin, the seniors discussed the various aspects of their application journeys, including selecting the right universities, writing personal statements, and managing deadlines. Many emphasized the importance of starting early and staying organized to ensure all deadlines are met on time. Additionally, some shared the personal challenges they faced, such as balancing academics with extracurricular activities and deciding which universities required more focus in their personal statements.

Juniors found the session highly informative. Through the personal experiences and suggestions shared by the seniors, they gained a deeper understanding of the application process. They became aware of potential obstacles, which helped them avoid these issues in their applications. Others appreciated the practical tips, such as how to highlight strengths in applications and prepare for interviews. The Q&A session afterward, in particular, allowed juniors to ask specific questions, ranging from recommendation letters to standardized testing strategies, and offered them firsthand advice on various aspects they were concerned about. As the seniors’ sharing session came to an end, the homerooms buzzed with discussion and questions, energized by their renewed understanding of upcoming applications.

Overall, the session fostered a sense of connection between the grades while equipping the junior cohort with both confidence and clarity for their upcoming applications. And although the process will undoubtedly be demanding, with the right mindset and support, it’s also an exciting opportunity to shape the future.
