Chasing Dreams, Leading with Responsibility: 9th & 10th Grade ASB Election Highlights

On the afternoon of September 17, students from Grades 9 and 10 gathered in the auditorium of the HSI Building for the highly anticipated annual Associated Student Board ("ASB") election.



The ASB, composed of 13 members, will represent the student body and organize a wide range of activities throughout the school year. This year, 24 candidates from both grades embarked on this journey—having gone through preliminary sign-ups and class elections, and campaigned vigorously with personalized posters displayed in the Zhongxing Building lobby. In the days leading up to the election, excitement filled the hallways as students exchanged views about their favorite candidates.



Candidates chose to run in one of three departments: Public Relations, Design & Decoration, or Technology & Treasury. And the students would cast their votes for each department's candidates . These department winners will be joined by the four candidates with the highest overall votes to form the new ASB leadership.



The election procedure included a video introduction, a 1-minute speech, and a 30-second impromptu pitch. Each candidate brought their unique style—humorous, passionate, or heartfelt—to articulate their vision and commitment.


After the host outlined the process, the candidates captivated the audience with their approachable personality, musical talent, and previous ASB experience. Those running for the Design department showcased stunning portfolios that drew cheers and admiration. Public Relations candidates demonstrated charisma and creativity through powerful speeches, original songs, and lively interactions. Meanwhile, candidates for Technology & Treasury highlighted concrete contributions from past events, proving their reliability and strategic thinking.



As the event neared its end, each candidate delivered a closing remark—some sharing heartfelt plans, others sparking laughter with witty one-liners, leaving a lasting impression.


The election concluded with a round of enthusiastic applause as students submitted their ballots. Regardless of the outcome, every candidate has already demonstrated outstanding initiative and a heart for service. We are confident that the newly formed ASB will make the 2025 school year vibrant and memorable for all high school students!
