September 15, 2025

To promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture and enhance the aesthetic education of students, on the afternoon of September 12, SHSID high school organized students to visit the “Pure by Nature: The Art of Blanc de Chine” Art Exhibition at the China Art Museum (Shanghai Art Museum). This visit not only allowed students to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese white porcelain in person, but it was also a vivid lesson in art and cultural education.

The exhibition, themed “Pure by Nature”, is divided into three main sections: “Splendid Renewal,” “Historical Resonance,” and “Future Vessels.”. It efficiently presents the historical heritage and contemporary innovation of Dehua white porcelain. During the visit, students were deeply impressed by the elegant porcelain works. For example, the piece ShiBoHe Ding showcased the concept of how “all things coexisting in harmony” through relief carvings of mythical beasts and hundreds of flowers, earning much admiration. Another exhibit, Mythology, employed the advanced technique of high-toughness thin-body porcelain ware, with its thinnest part of only 0.2 millimeters, fine as silk, leaving the students in awe of the superb craftsmanship.

Overall, this visit broadened the students’ artistic horizons, allowing them to perceive that the essence of traditional Chinese craftsmanship is not confined to museum displays but lives on as a cultural gene that continues to grow with the spirit of Chinese innovation.
