Stallions Rowing Team Rides the Waves at 2025 Shanghai River Regatta
On October 2, 2025, the SHSID Stallions Rowing Team took to Suzhou Creek — Shanghai’s historic mother river — to compete in the Junior Division of the Shanghai River Regatta. Up against tough competition, including athletes from professional sports schools, both the men’s and women’s quadruple sculls displayed grit and skill, rowing with the strength of amateurs but the precision of professionals. Their efforts carried them through the waves to a fifth-place finish in their respective events.
Months of rigorous summer training paid off as the Stallions entered race day focused and prepared. The men’s team powered through the course with explosive energy and steady rhythm, while the women’s team relied on precise technique and seamless teamwork to finish with determination.
Warm-up
Live from the Race
From the riverbank, the "Stallions Support Squad" held up posters filled with cheering slogans, chanting in unison, "One, two, Go Shanghai High!" and" Stallions Go!" Their rhythmic voices rolled like drumbeats across the water, becoming a second rhythm in the rowers' hearts and creating a powerful dialogue between the water and the shore.
Stallions Support Squad
Since its establishment, the SHSID Stallions Rowing Team has been invited to the Shanghai River Regatta for three consecutive years. What began as a hastily formed squad has, in just three years, grown into a rising force that has shown its grit and edge in every race against strong opponents. For the student-athletes, the achievements mean more than medals — they are the reward of early morning launches and relentless effort under the summer sun. For the SHSID community, rowing has become more than a competition — it has become a spirit, deeply embedded in the school’s culture.
Teachers and Students Offer Greetings on the 160th Anniversary of Shanghai High School
As Shanghai High School marks its 160th anniversary, the Stallions Rowing Team dedicates this accomplishment to their alma mater, showcasing both their talent and the promise of the future.
