Inheriting 160 Years of Proud: Messages from Alumni&Students III
Luo Runming
My years at Shanghai High School International Division were a time of intellectual growth and expanding curiosity. Both inside and outside the classroom, our teachers encouraged us to think boldly, to question deeply, and to transform knowledge into problem-solving skills through hands-on experience.
Participating in the project recently deepened my appreciation for teamwork and interdisciplinary thinking. From brainstorming and designing experiments to researching literature and discussing ideas, every step of the process was valuable and inspiring. It also reinforced my passion for continuing on the path of scientific inquiry.
I'm truly grateful to SHSID for providing such a solid and open academic environment, and to all the teachers who have guided and supported us along the way.
On the occasion of SHS’s 160th anniversary, I wish the school continued growth and success in nurturing the next generation of curious, capable, and driven students. To all current students: cherish your time here—keep exploring, stay curious, and make your mark.
Li Chengche
From Grade 5 to high school graduation, I spent the most memorable and meaningful years of my life at Shanghai High School. It was here that I met so many precious friends and patient, caring teachers, and lived through a youth filled with both laughter and tears.
I still vividly remember playing badminton with friends after class, the silly moments of constantly messing up dance moves during after-school rehearsals for school festivals. These memories feel so fresh, as if they happened just yesterday, and I truly cherish them.
Through these rich and colorful experiences, I gradually formed my own worldview and values. SHSID shaped who I am today—it was this campus that gave me the courage to pursue my dreams.
On the occasion of SHS's 160th anniversary, I want to sincerely say: Thank you, SHS. I am forever grateful to be a part of your story. One day, I will return—as a better version of myself—to visit you again.

Three years ago, when I first arrived at SHSID, everything felt so unfamiliar. Now, as I pass by the "BaiSe" road again, I’m struck by how familiar it all seems. Every corner—"Ba ge li ge", Lawson—is filled with memories, as if we were all still here just yesterday. Those ordinary days now feel so precious and nostalgic. Here, I met so many people and experienced so many moments worth remembering. May all be well—let flowers bloom as flowers, and trees grow as trees. May we return, still the same youthful souls we once were.
Yao Shaomei
The four years I spent at SHSID remain among the happiest memories of my life. This place gave me a strong foundation of knowledge and life’s most precious gifts — a lifelong partner and friends I'll cherish forever.
I still remember those days where we lined up for meals in the cafeteria, and studied side by side in the classrooms. All these moments, along with the patient guidance from our teachers, are my warmest memories of SHSID.
Happy 160th birthday! May this beloved school continue to be a place where many more meaningful connections begin.
Miao Zhuoying
To My Beloved Alma Mater:
Happy Birthday! Thank you for being an exceptional forge where I was tempered and grew with astonishing speed. Though the academic mountains were arduous to climb, they forged my sturdiest armor—a sword of knowledge, the gleam of leadership, and armor of time management. More precious still, here I met mentors and friends who will walk with me for life, true companions for my soul. Your rigor and warmth will forever be my pride. With deepest blessings, may your brilliance shine eternally!
