Reading for All - Lunchtime Book-Sharing Event Held
On April 23, during the celebration of "International Reading Day," a unique lunchtime book-sharing event unfolded within Zhentao Building.
This session focused on short stories, allowing participating students to select one of three curated works for an in-depth discussion and exchange. Through a democratic voting process, Kevin Liu's "The Paper Menagerie" emerged as the chosen piece for the occasion. This magical realism short story, renowned for its poignant narrative and heartwarming themes, captured the hearts of all in attendance.
Under the guidance of Mr. Mahaffey, the sharing session saw students either engaging in role-play readings or offering insightful reflections on the story. Each detail served as a delicate brushstroke, resonating deeply with the audience. Despite the brevity of the lunch break, students found themselves fully immersed in this special reading experience. Some found amusement in the story's humor, while others were swept away by its emotional currents, all experiencing the boundless joy of reading.
As the event came to an end amidst a backdrop of joy, plans for the continuation of the "Reading for All" series were announced. Organizers expressed their enthusiasm for welcoming more students to join in and share the pleasures of reading together.
