Voices at SHSID: Times Launches New Issue “Racing Against Time”

On September 30, 2025, the Times Core Team successfully organized “Voices at SHSID,” a launch event for the magazine’s latest issue, “Racing Against Time.”



As a new initiative of the Times, “Voices at SHSID” aims to strengthen engagement between student journalism and the wider SHSID community, encouraging more students to share their perspectives and explore storytelling in diverse forms. The event featured an introduction to the new issue and interactive discussions that inspired participants to reflect on time, change, and creativity.







Only weeks later, October has already seen a series of exciting developments for the Times. On October 21, the Times Core Team and Section Editors held the annual All Members’ Meeting. Editor-in-Chief Aaron (’26) introduced the Times’ editorial values — Responsibility, Empathy, and Initiative — as the foundation of the publication’s mission.



Co-Creative Director Ryan (’27) outlined the print publication workflow, while Vice Editor-in-Chief Liris (’27) presented the editorial structure and this year’s selection process. The meeting concluded with warm applause and a team photo, marking the start of another year of collaboration and creativity.



Meanwhile, the editorial team announced the theme of the upcoming issue — “Over the Dragon’s Gate.”This new issue will follow SHSID students through a fresh academic year filled with opportunity and reflection, framed by the celebration of the school’s 160th anniversary.



In addition, the Times Photojournalism Gallery, curated by Sophia (’26), Ryan (’27), and Andrea (’27), has officially opened in the Zhongxing Building lobby, next to Reading Room 110. The exhibition showcases student photography capturing moments from both the Stallions campus and the Greater Xuhui area, offering a vivid glimpse into everyday life through students’ eyes.


With its latest issue and new initiatives, the Times continues to embody the voices, creativity, and vision of SHSID students — always moving forward, always racing against time.
