Puxi Campus G6-7: Where DreamsTake Flight: English Storytelling Competition
On an afternoon brimming with inspiration, the sixth- and seventh-graders of SHSID created a literary feast that traversed reality and fantasy through English stories. From keen observations of everyday life to bold imaginings of time travel, from thrilling explorations of mysterious rooms to personal growth through interdimensional adventures, they demonstrated remarkable depth of thought and narrative charm through clear logic, fluent expression, and creativity.

The six finalists took the stage one by one, guiding the audience into their uniquely constructed story universes: Teo "The Missing Stationery" started with a seemingly ordinary family conflict, revealing the often-overlooked warmth within familial bonds. 6-4 Elena's time-travel suspense captivated the listeners, where a girl uncovers family truths woven between history and reality. During the plot twist, waves of amazement swept through the crowd, everyone holding their breath, completely immersed. Josie from 6-5 told a story about honesty and redemption. When the magic mirror exposed Maya's lies, synchronized sighs of realization arose from the audience; and when three generations worked together to repair the vase, the heartwarming scene brought touched smiles to many faces.

6-4 Ryan Zhang's fantasy adventure "The Mysterious Room D702" immersed the audience in a thrilling atmosphere. 6-2 Michael conveyed the spirit of perseverance through an otherworldly adventure, where the protagonist grows while rescuing a deity. 6-5 Miller told an adventure of courage and legacy— young Tim bravely ventured into a pyramid to save his father, outsmarting a mummy, and ultimately succeeded not only in rescuing his father but also in safeguarding the sapphire, a symbol of the"never give up" spirit.

The seventh-grade contestants took the stage one by one, each showcasing their unique charm. 7-8 Erin presented an adventure story about loyalty and courage. When the young Talion successfully challenged himself, found the "Rock of Loyal," and embraced his mother warmly, the audience was deeply moved by the heartfelt moment. 7-7 Matthew delivered a fable revealing the cost of greed: a master who kept driving his servants to expand his castle ultimately fell into the moat symbolizing his own avarice. The tight narrative and dramatic twists kept the audience on the edge of their seats, eyes fixed on the stage. 7-5 Irina presented the protagonist's adventurous journey. As the protagonist overcame the challenges of five doors and learned generosity, diligence, patience, harmony, and courage while restoring the golden flower, the audience erupted in enthusiastic applause.

The three S and S+ contestants also delivered outstanding performances. 7-5 Nathan told the story of a middle schooler passionate about music. When the student used his sincere singing to tame the out-of-control Sirens and together they sang a melody of life and peace, the audience held their breath, as if immersed in the magic of the music. 7-8 Jefffery transported the audience into a humorous and satirical mythological world. The protagonist was cursed due to his arrogance and mockery of others. The audience laughed throughout the lively narration while also grasping the profound lesson on the consequences of pride. 7-9 Ruisen's Good Student led the audience alongside the protagonist into a primitive tribe, experiencing the journey from arrogance to humility, and allowing them to feel true growth through a fantastical tale.

The list of award winners is as follows:

These works were not only demonstrations of language proficiency but also sparks of imaginative thought. As each storyteller exited the stage, the audience responded with warm, sustained applause, celebrating both their creativity and the dedication behind their performances. The conclusion of these stories signals the start of new adventures. These young creators have shown that when imagination meets perseverance, even ordinary words can radiate extraordinary brilliance.
