November 24, 2025

On Friday, November 21, 2025, the 12th-grade students of SHSID gathered in the Xianmian Annex Building Auditorium for their weekly assembly.

Maegan from class 12(1) gave a presentation to share her interests in writing. She began by reflecting on her 9th-grade and recent writings to outline her writing journey and notable improvements. She emphasized that every piece of writing requires editing and that every authorial choice requires precision, noting that no first draft is perfect. Next, Maegan shared her understanding of literature, summarizing that literature embodies creativity, art, and free will. She explained that her motivations for pursuing literature are self-expression and the desire to tell stories.

Finally, she concluded that writing should evoke emotions in readers, and she ended her presentation with a brief note on media literacy. Through this speech, students learned that writing involves more than just technique; it also encompasses values and charm.
