Academic Competition: Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)

December 13, 2025

In late September 2025, our students participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) either online or in their respective exam center.

The Australian Mathematical Trust (AMT), founded by renowned Australian mathematician Peter O'Halloran, stands as one of the world's leading academic institutions. Its mission is to enrich mathematical education for students at all levels by providing cutting-edge mathematical concepts, theoretical developments, and educational resources. The AMT selects and supports Australia's international mathematics and informatics Olympiad teams. The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) was introduced in Australia in 1978 as the first Australia-wide mathematics competition for students. It has become the largest single event on the Australian education calendar, allowing students to attempt the same tasks on the same day in over 32 countries and regions around the globe.

A special shout out to the students from SHSID for their outstanding performance during the exam: they have won 2 Peter O'Halloran Award For Excellence, 5 National Prize, 19 National High Distinction, 99 National Distinction, 98 National Credit and 44 National Proficiency from the exam.

Congratulations to all our award-winning students! We appreciate every student’s hard work and participation in this contest. May our students continue to demonstrate their excellence and sharpen their skills in the years to come, reaching for new heights of success!
