SHSID Establishes Social Practice Base with Xuhui District Third Senior Welfare Home

On December 12, 2025, Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) and the Xuhui District Third Senior Welfare Home formally entered into an agreement to establish a collaborative Social Practice Base. This partnership institutionalized a framework for long-term and systematic student volunteer services.





The Third Senior Welfare Home is a highly regarded institution in Xuhui, recognized for its integrated care model and recipient of several district and municipal honors. Its professional service standard provides a solid foundation for this cooperation. Since March 2023, SHSID students have engaged in regular volunteer activities at the home, participating in monthly birthday celebrations and offering companionship through performances and crafts. This sustained interaction has allowed students to develop social responsibility and empathy while bringing warmth to the residents. The establishment of this base will further systematize these valuable experiences.






Moving forward, both parties will coordinate closely on planning activities, student training, and safety protocols. This collaboration ensures services are meaningful for the elderly and educational for the students. This initiative aligns with SHSID's commitment to holistic education through diverse social practices. It expands the school's network of service-learning platforms, offering students a consistent opportunity to engage with the community and uphold the tradition of respecting and caring for seniors.
