Grade 12 Assembly: Interest on Public Transportation
On the morning of December 19, 2025, the seniors gathered in Xianmian Auditorium for their weekly whole-grade assembly. This week, Ethan from 12-4 came to the stage to share his experiences with a presentation titled My Interest: Public Transportation.

Starting from his personal interest, Ethan shared his long-standing fascination with Shanghai’s metro and bus systems. He recalled taking Metro Line 4 from a young age, especially enjoying the elevated sections that allowed him to observe the city from above. He also explained how buses, though slower than the metro, offer a unique way to experience the city through everyday scenes and human warmth.
Among all forms of public transportation, Ethan expressed a particular admiration for trolley buses. He described them as quiet electric vehicles that have become cultural symbols of Shanghai, with their iconic overhead wires tracing the city’s skyline for nearly a century. To Ethan, public transportation is not just about routes and vehicles but also about history, culture, and personal growth.
Concluding his talk, Ethan reflected on how metro lines and buses have witnessed both his own growth and the continuous development of the city, leaving the audience with a thoughtful perspective on ordinary interests and urban life.
