SHSID Delegation Achieves Outstanding Results at Harvard Model United Nations 2026

February 26, 2026

From January 29 to February 1, 2026, a delegation of nine students from Grades 10 and 11 of SHSID travelled to Boston, USA, to participate in the 2026 Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN 2026). HMUN is one of the world’s most prestigious and competitive Model United Nations conferences, renowned for its high academic standards and intensive conference pace.

Over the four-day conference, SHSID delegates participated in a range of committees, engaging with outstanding delegates from around the world. They conducted in-depth debates, negotiations, and policy drafting on key international issues. In this challenging and fast-paced environment, SHSID students demonstrated strong academic preparation, clear and confident public speaking skills, and a mature understanding of diplomatic protocol and multilateral cooperation. Through sustained international engagement, students further developed their critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural competencies, while deepening their understanding of international relations and global citizenship.

At the closing ceremony, the SHSID delegation received four individual awards and was honoured with the “Outstanding Small Delegation” Award. This recognition not only highlights the exceptional performance of individual delegates in their respective committees but also affirms the delegation’s overall consistency, collaboration, and high-quality participation across multiple committees.

SHSID extends its warm congratulations to the delegation on their achievements at HMUN 2026 and takes great pride in the students’ demonstration of academic excellence, responsibility, and collective spirit on the international stage.
