Puxi Campus G1-3: the Opening Ceremony of the Second Semester of 2025 Academic Year
On the morning of March 2nd, teachers and students from Grades 1-3 of SHSID Puxi Campus gathered in the auditorium for the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 School Year Second Semester, accompanied by cheerful music. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Zhang Yi, Director of SHSID Puxi Campus Grade 1-3, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The ceremony began with Ms. Zhang Yi warmly welcoming the distinguished guests and new students, officially declaring the opening ceremony underway. She introduced each new student by name, and the children waved to the audience amid warm applause, embracing the warmth of the SHSID family.

Three student representatives then took the stage to deliver their speeches. Katherine from Class 3-2 shared her "four goals for the new semester," encouraging her fellow students to remain curious in Chinese, math, and science classes, to explore bravely, to persevere, and to grow into bright, confident, and respectful students. Elena from Class 1-1 shared her growth story at school with sincere and heartfelt words, describing how she learned to be her own "little master," bravely follow her heart, and spread kindness in daily life. Oswald from Class 2-6 delivered a humorous and confident speech, reflecting on his achievements in sports, academics, and teamwork. He inspired his peers with the quote, "Don't aim to be the best. Aim to be the only," encouraging everyone to become their unique selves, earning rounds of applause from the audience.

After the student speeches, all teachers and students watched a "Division Highlights" video together. The screen flashed with wonderful moments from the previous semester, including Sports Week, the Art Festival, Authors Week, and Math Week. Everyone immersed themselves in laughter and warm memories. Ms. Zhang Yi invited students to show their love for these activities with hand gestures and expressed sincere gratitude to the dedicated teachers who made those moments possible.

Following the video, Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, delivered her new semester address. Centered on the themes of "courage, perseverance, kindness, and joy," she encouraged students to embrace new challenges, never give up when facing difficulties, and warm others with kindness. She hoped every student would grow and find joy in the new semester, becoming the brightest stars on campus.

During the awards segment, homeroom teachers announced the "Eight Stars" winners from the previous semester, recognizing students who excelled in various areas. Ms. Liu Fang and Ms. Miao Xiaoling, Assistant Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, then presented trophies to the classes receiving the "Golden Cup Challenge" Excellent Class honor and took group photos with the class representatives, inspiring all classes to strive for greater achievements in the new term.

Finally, Ms. Zhang Yi delivered her new semester blessings in a creative and heartfelt way, using Chinese idioms featuring the word "horse" (马). She encouraged students to "take the lead" (一马当先) in their studies, avoid being "distracted" (心猿意马) in class, and bravely face challenges knowing they have the support of "thousands of troops" (千军万马)— their teachers, classmates, and parents. She also hoped that returning students, like "an old horse knows the way" (老马识途), would help new students adapt to campus life. She wished everyone "immediate success" (马到成功) in the new semester, gaining knowledge and friendship along the way.

The ceremony concluded with a heartwarming video of teachers' blessings for the new semester. The children embarked on their new academic journey, filled with anticipation and motivation. The Grades 1-3 section looks forward to working hand in hand with all teachers, students, and parents to create another fulfilling and wonderful semester together!
