Art Exhibition Notification: Convergence of Prints into Waves - Printmaking Exhibition between Shanghai High School and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts

Dates: Mar. 1st, 2026- Apr. 1st, 2026

Location: SHSID Art Gallery (2nd floor, Art Center of SHSID)

When carving knives touch different plates, and colors collide with diverse forms, printmaking art blooms with unique vitality through multiple expressions.

This exhibition, Convergence of Prints into Waves — a printmaking exchange between Shanghai High School and the Printmaking Department of the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, brings together more than 50 selected outstanding works, covering five core printmaking techniques: woodcut, screen printing, etching, lithography, and mixed-media printmaking.

Among them, over 30 works by teachers and students of the Printmaking Department of the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts feature professional depth and contemporary vision, fully demonstrating the academic heritage and creative excellence of printmaking art. More than 10 works by teachers and students of Shanghai High School closely link artistic creation with youthful imagination, showcasing distinctive creativity: there are black-and-white woodcut portraits, outlining imagined characters with crisp and neat knife marks; there are also vibrantly colored screen-printed canvas bags, turning original cartoon images and beloved anime characters into colorful patterns, allowing printmaking art to step off the paper and become tangible, practical daily items.
