Middle and Primary School English Department: International Women's Day — "Give to Gain"

March 11, 2026

On Monday, 9th March, the Middle and Primary School English Department hosted a lively lunchtime event to celebrate International Women's Day. This year's theme, "Give to Gain," encouraged students to reflect on how sharing our voices, ideas, and opportunities with others helps build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Excitement filled the Reading Room in the Hsi building as students eagerly participated in a variety of engaging activities. From the Inclusion Café, where students explored a curated menu of books highlighting stories of courage, resilience, and solidarity, to an interactive Bingo challenge featuring fact files about trailblazing women from different cultures and historical periods, each activity invited students to learn from the past and consider their role in shaping the future.

The aim of the event was simple but powerful: to remind students that progress often begins with small acts of generosity, empathy, and advocacy. By giving their time, attention, and support to others, students gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and the responsibility they share in creating a more just and inclusive world.
