High School Math: Congratulations on Outstanding Achievements in Two International Mathematics Competitions

In March 2026, SHSID high school delivered exceptional performances at two high-level international mathematics competitions—the Yale University Mathematics Challenge (MMATHS) and the Yale University Global Initiative in Mathematics (GiM)—earning numerous honors. Both competitions are highly influential mathematics contests worldwide, where our students fully demonstrated their solid mathematical foundations, sharp logical thinking, and outstanding teamwork skills.


Yale University Global Initiative in Mathematics (GiM)

Six high school girls participated as a team, excelling in both individual and team events. Notably, the team achieved a remarkable feat by securing gold awards in all three team categories: Team Round, Team Guts Round, and Team Overall. This outstanding accomplishment highlights the exceptional collective strength of our girls' mathematics team and reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing every student in mathematics education. Whether through honing individual skills or fostering seamless teamwork, these results demonstrate that our mathematics curriculum system not only emphasizes a strong foundation but also focuses on individualized instruction and holistic development, allowing every student passionate about mathematics to find her own stage to shine.


Yale University Mathematics Challenge (MMATHS)

Eight high school students also delivered impressive performances in this comprehensive high school mathematics challenge, earning a wealth of accolades. In the individual events, they secured one gold, one silver, and two bronze awards. In the team events—Team Round and Team Guts Round—two two-person teams each ranked in the top three, with both earning gold awards. This competition served not only as a rigorous test of mathematical ability but also as a valuable opportunity to broaden horizons, strengthen resilience, and deepen collaboration on an international stage. Behind every honor lies the students’ hard work and the dedicated guidance of the mathematics faculty.
