The Start of Senior Project

March 23, 2026

At SHSID, high school students take on a unique CAS project each year to guide them in discovering their place within their communities, and the twelfth-grade students are no exception. As the new semester unfolded, students of the Class of 2026 officially started on their last CAS project of high school, the Senior Project. With the projects of the past three years, students have already developed a deep understanding of their identities, their roles within the community, and the contributions they could make for the community. Building on this, the Senior Project encourages students to move beyond the classroom and into real-world settings such as banks, restaurants, laboratories, and companies, where they can gain insight into professional norms through hands-on experience.

On March 18, amid a mix of anticipation and curiosity, students engaged in thorough discussions with their advisors: those assigned to on-campus research projects began familiarizing themselves with relevant experimental topics, while those heading to external companies started to learn about corporate regulations.

At present, all groups have finalized their internship plans, and the next stage will involve deeper exploration and hands-on experience. Through this Senior Project, students will learn to tackle challenges, reflect on their experiences, and improve their approaches through teamwork. More importantly, they will gain an immersive learning experience outside the school environment, building a strong foundation for their future university years.
