Grade 11 Unlocks Practical Insights for Interviews and Course Selection
On the afternoon in March 18, juniors at SHSID participated in a specialized interview seminar and course selection activity. The events were designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of interview procedure and to build a solid foundation for their future academic planning.
During the first period, students gathered in their respective homerooms to attend a collective seminar via Tencent Meeting. A professional instructor shared her personal career journey and provided a detailed analysis of the typical interview procedure. During the Q&A session, a student from Class 11-1 raised an insightful question regarding the balance between connecting with the interviewer and articulating one’s unique character. The guest offered professional advice, emphasizing the significance of both authenticity and engagement during an interview.

Following the seminar, the second period was divided based on student’s course selections in previous years. IB students focused on updating their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) reflections while AP and A-Level students engaged in 1-to-1 course selection meetings with their respective homeroom teachers, carefully choosing their future subjects based on their intended majors, academic progress, and interest.
This week’s CAS session not only enhanced student’s understanding of professional interviews but also clarified their upcoming academic paths. These experiences will undoubtedly support them as they move forward in their educational journeys.
