Grade 10: Making Progress Together
On April 15, in the final CAS period, Grade 10 students walked between classrooms in the Zhongxing Building to attend midterm review lectures hosted by the Peer Advisor (PA) program.
PA members acted as “peer teachers” for all the subjects across various levels, explaining key concepts to their classmates to aid them on their preparation for the midterm exams. They began planning their lectures from as early as a week ago, formulating lecture plans and making PPTs. All review materials have been proofread and reviewed by subject teachers for accuracy. The lectures were also supplemented by the PA tutorial department, where students wrote detailed and well-organized review guides to cater to student needs. Through the two activities, students were able receive first-hand tutoring and support from their peers, which boosted their independent review efforts considerably.
Peer tutoring sessions were held across a range of subjects, integrating in-depth concept explanations with interactive Q&A sessions. For example, during a Chemistry review, a PA member outlined the characteristics of an ideal solution, and a student raised a question about the reasoning behind these theoretical assumptions. The PA member responded patiently, using concrete examples to walk the student through the logical derivation, helping to fill knowledge gaps.
Overall, the PA review effectively supported peers in their exam preparation. We hope all students can arrange their time properly and make targeted preparations for the midterm exams. Best of luck to everyone!
