In April, the campus is vibrant with the fresh green of dawn redwoods, and a palpable energy of growth permeates every corner. During this auspicious season, university admission offers from around the globe have been arriving in steady succession.

Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) is an international school for expat children, providing a comprehensive, inclusive education with 100% internal promotion from Grades 1 through 12. The Class of 2026 comprises students from 19 countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Brazil, and Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao SARs. With their diverse cultural backgrounds, these scholars have infused the campus with vibrant energy.

The university matriculation choices of the Class of 2026 reflect distinct characteristics of globalization and personalization. All 204 graduates applied to universities across 25 countries and regions, resulting in a diverse range of destinations,  Approximately 116 students identified the United States as their primary destination; about 86 students focused on the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Europe, and Australia; meanwhile, several students chose to pursue further studies in Chinese mainland. As for Class of 2026, more than 110 are expected to enroll in U.S. universities. By comparison, 125 of 207 graduates from the previous cohort ultimately enrolled.

We hereby present the university admissions results for the Class of 2026 as of April 8, 2026.

The U.S. results feature three major highlights:

  • Surge in Liberal Arts Colleges: Admissions to top-tier liberal arts colleges increased significantly; 12 students received 13 offers from the Top 10 liberal arts colleges, including 2 offers from Williams College, which consistently ranks No. 1.

These include 36 offers from The University of Hong Kong(HKU), 23 from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and 7 from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Regarding university applications, SHSID has consistently upheld the principle that “the most suitable choice is the best choice.” In the broader journey of life, university admission marks the start of a new chapter rather than its conclusion. As stated in the Chinese classic The Great Learning: “Wishing to be sincere in their thoughts, they first extended to the utmost their knowledge. Such extension of knowledge lay in the investigation of things.” Whether a person can truly achieve excellence and contribute to society depends not on an offer of admission today, but on the curiosity and pursuit of truth cultivated through the “investigation of things.”

As the high school journey draws to a close, the school encourages all graduates to complete their studies with dedication and to bring this chapter to a fulfilling close. We sincerely wish that every student, wherever they may go and whichever institution they attend, will remain true to their passion, uphold rigorous integrity, and embrace a global perspective as they explore the world and assume the responsibilities of the times with distinguished talent.
