Grades 9-10 House Program Career Planning: From Interests to Careers

May 6, 2026

On the afternoon of April 29, 9th and 10th grade students embarked on a journey of academic and career exploration under the guidance and mentorship of their respective house mentors.

Students started by sharing their insights and takeaways from recently reading books related to their respective houses’ themes. From the humanities and social sciences to engineering and technology, students delved deeply into their areas of interest, presenting their thoughts and reflections. Reading not only broadened their horizons, but also greatly inspired their thinking about career planning.

House mentors provided detailed explanations of career paths associated with various academic disciplines, as well as the development prospects of different professions. Each house explored career pathways in fields such as healthcare, business management and creative industries, basing the discussion upon statistical data and their extensive experience. Additionally, many house mentors shared their own original motivations for choosing the teaching path, encouraging students to actively explore their interests and potentials, and boldly pursue their dreams.

The event concluded with students from each house collaborating in small groups to conduct in-depth research on career paths with the assistance of AI software. Students created creative and detailed posters based on discussions, personal experiences, and the information accumulated from the research process.

This house event provided students with new perspectives and pathways, coming to a successful conclusion through their proactive planning. Through this collaborative exploration, the students gained in-depth insights alongside a clearer understanding of their future directions.
