Puxi Campus G8: Sailing Toward the Future, Setting Off with Youth
On May 7, 2026, all Grade 8 students from SHSID Puxi Campus traveled to Oriental Land for a graduation field trip and outdoor team-building experience. Centered around teamwork, outdoor challenges, and personal growth, the program included high-rope activities, collaborative training tasks, and dragon boat racing. Through these authentic experiences, students strengthened their sense of cooperation, responsibility, and resilience while creating meaningful memories to mark the end of their middle school journey.
At 8:00 a.m., students gathered in their classrooms for attendance and T-shirt distribution, then boarded buses in an orderly manner. Excitement and anticipation filled the ride as students looked forward to the day ahead.
Upon arrival at Oriental Land, all Grade 8 students assembled at Luzhou Theater for a graduation group photo and a special graduation slogan video recording. Together, the students shouted, "chen guang gong hui, qi ji tong hui — Happy Graduation!", leaving behind a vibrant memory for the Class of 2026.
The twelve classes were then divided into two groups for the morning activities. Classes 8(1)-8(6) participated in the "Hearts United by Drum" teamwork challenge on the lawn below the Beehive Tower, while Classes 8(7)-8(12) began with the Beehive Tower high-rope climbing activities.
In the "Hearts United by Drum" activity, students worked together to control the ball's movement on a drum surface by coordinating the tension and rhythm of attached ropes. Through repeated attempts and constant adjustment, students gradually developed stronger communication and teamwork skills amid laughter, encouragement, and shared effort.
Meanwhile, the Beehive Tower challenge tested students' courage, concentration, and perseverance. Under the guidance of professional instructors, students wore safety equipment and completed a series of climbing and aerial obstacle activities. Facing heights and uncertainty, many students stepped beyond their comfort zones and gained confidence through the experience.
At noon, all students returned to Luzhou Theater for lunch and a short break. In the afternoon, the much-anticipated dragon boat race officially began. One class after another boarded the dragon boats, paddling in rhythm to the sound of the drums. The synchronized movements and enthusiastic cheers filled the lake with energy and excitement. More than a competition, the dragon boat activity highlighted the importance of trust, coordination, and collective effort.
At the conclusion of the program, students gathered once again at Luzhou Theater before boarding the buses back to school. Conversations on the return trip remained lively, as students reflected on the day's challenges, teamwork, and memorable moments.
This graduation expedition was not only an outdoor activity, but also a meaningful lesson in growth, courage, and collaboration. At this important milestone before leaving middle school, Grade 8 students created lasting memories through shared experiences and collective challenges, carrying forward the spirit of youth as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.
