Grade 10: Students Participated in the Knowledge Knockout Quiz Competition
On May 13 during the CAS period, Grade 10 students gathered in the Zhentao Building B1 Lecture Hall to participate in the Knowledge Knockout quiz competition.

The competition followed a format of three elimination rounds followed by a grand final: in the first three rounds, two teams faced off head-to-head, with the winner of each round advancing to the finals. The three winning teams then competed for the championship, runner-up, and third place titles. As the first round began, the venue quickly filled with enthusiastic shouts from students eager to buzz in and answer questions. The opening questions covered school history, humanities and social sciences, as well as mathematics and science, such as “In what year was SHSID founded?” This was followed by questions on pop culture, arts, sports, and general knowledge, while the final round included two audience-voted Family Feud-style interactive questions. Contestants had to answer quickly throughout the competition: incorrect answers given before the host finished reading the question resulted in point deductions, while incorrect answers after the question was fully read carried no penalty. The first team to answer correctly earned one point, making the entire event tense, exciting, and highly entertaining.

The atmosphere at the competition was lively and energetic. Each participating team remained intensely focused and quick to react, especially during the buzzer rounds, where contestants demonstrated impressive knowledge and strong teamwork. Audience members continuously applauded, cheered, and shouted encouragement from the sidelines. The final round was particularly intense: the last two teams ended in a tie and had to enter overtime. After two extremely challenging sudden-death questions, the winner was finally decided. After the event, many students commented that the entire competition—from the elimination rounds to the overtime showdown—was both thrilling and incredibly fun, leaving everyone energized and excited.

More than just a competition, this year’s Knowledge Knockout provided students with a platform to showcase their intelligence and talents while strengthening the unity and camaraderie of the grade through laughter and shared excitement. This clash of knowledge and speed left Grade 10 students with an unforgettable memory of campus life.
