Grade 12 Assembly: Intro to National Academic Quiz Tournaments
On March 29, the seniors gathered at the Xianmian auditorium for their regular Friday assembly, where they were introduced to the National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQTs). Speakers Jake, Janie, and Sophie emphasized the NAQTs’ helpfulness in intellectual development.
The speakers then highlighted NAQTs’ expansive history and widespread participation, with over 10,000 universities and 7,000 high schools globally. The presentation also introduced the 2024 NAQT season, running from March to August 2024, featuring a mix of online and offline competitions designed to challenge students across various disciplines.
Students then received guidance on how to participate, from understanding the rules to engaging in mock competitions with the support of official NAQT materials. This was aimed to equip both newcomers and seasoned participants with tools for success. With the 2024 season's registration now open, the speakers encouraged SHSID seniors to embrace this unique blend of competition and learning, thereby expanding their academic and social landscapes.
