Exploring the Future of AI with Global Youth: Students Participate in the Global Youth AI Innovation Camp
From May 10 to 14, the Global Youth AI Innovation Camp, hosted by the World Digital Education Alliance, was held in Hangzhou. Twenty-seven teams from 23 countries around the world gathered in Hangzhou to conduct in-depth exchanges and practical activities centered on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital education. Under the guidance of Mr. He, a total of six students from both SHS and SHSID participated in this international camp, exploring the future of artificial intelligence together with young students from all over the world.

The camp brought together outstanding high school students from countries and regions including Cambodia, Egypt, Russia and Thailand. With the core principles of "practice-oriented, interdisciplinary integration and cultural exchange", the event featured diverse sessions such as thematic lectures, project creation, corporate visits and cultural experiences, covering practical projects including 3D modeling and printing, large language model-assisted programming, drone flight control and precision carving experience. From creative conception to hands-on implementation, from algorithm debugging to teamwork, students not only improved their digital technology skills but also gained a deeper understanding of the engineering logic and innovative thinking behind artificial intelligence.

During the camp, students attended cutting-edge lectures such as AI Technology Development and Educational Applications, clarifying the technical principles and educational value of AI. They engaged in hands-on 3D printing, turning ideas into tangible works; operated drones to master the integrated application of AI and flight control technology; and visited the Hangzhou Embodied Intelligence Exhibition Center to observe robots, smart devices and technological achievements up close. In addition, they visited the Hangzhou Innovation Institute of Beihang University and Hangzhou Gaoxin Experimental School to learn about cutting-edge scientific research and AI education practices. They also toured the China National Silk Museum and West Lake, experiencing the beauty of the integration of technology and humanities.

Jerry from Grade 9 stated: "These days at the camp were fulfilling and rewarding. We personally accessed and experienced many cutting-edge AI technologies. A series of practical activities and visits to institutions and enterprises let us truly feel the wide application and profound impact of AI in daily life, and gain a clearer understanding and reflection on the future development direction of artificial intelligence."
In recent years, our school has continuously focused on artificial intelligence and technological innovation education, encouraging students to actively participate in international scientific and technological exchange activities to cultivate future-oriented innovation capabilities and a global perspective. This participation in the Global Youth AI Innovation Camp not only demonstrated the technological literacy and youthful demeanor of our students but also further inspired their enthusiasm for exploring future technologies.
The future is here, and youth walk together. We look forward to our students continuing to embrace an open vision and innovative thinking, writing their own wonderful chapters in the era of artificial intelligence.
