Primary School Open Day Art Demo Class

To improve students’ art literacy and inherit excellent traditional Chinese culture, SHSID held an Art Demo Class: Dunhuang Zaojing for Grade 1 students on the Open Day in late May. Focusing on traditional Dunhuang art, the lesson introduced central symmetry, classic patterns and colors of Dunhuang Zaojing. It creatively combined paper cutting and paper dyeing, helping students feel the beauty of traditional patterns and improve their artistic aesthetics.

In class, students actively joined in folding, cutting, dyeing and framing. They enjoyed an immersive and joyful creation experience with high participation. This art lesson educated students through beauty and integrated traditional culture into art practice. It improved children’s hands-on skills and aesthetic expression, and planted the seed of inheriting Dunhuang art in young hearts, showing the fun and warmth of lower-grade art education.
