Grade 9 CAS: Race to Answer!
On May 13, 2026, ninth-grade students spent two CAS classes participating in the “Knowledge Knockout,” organized by the ASB at the XMT auditorium. Eight teams, each comprising four to six members, participated in an elimination-style quiz game.
The event featured a four-round competition consisting of three elimination rounds and one final round. In the first and second elimination rounds, four teams played against each other, and the first-place teams from each round advanced to the finals. The remaining six teams then played in a third elimination round, from which the first and second-place teams also advanced to the final round.
The questions covered a wide range of topics, including humanities, pop culture, STEM, sports, campus knowledge, arts, and general knowledge. The atmosphere at the venue was lively, with the audience constantly applauding to cheer for the contestants. The competition was intense: after the host read a question, the teams needed to press the buzzer quickly on their computers, and the team that pressed first gained the right to answer. If they answered incorrectly, the opportunity passed to the next team that pressed the buzzer until someone answered correctly. The entire process was exciting and full of fun, and the participants demonstrated excellent sportsmanship.

After the event, the teams entering the final round all received their deserved prizes and honors. Students shared that the diverse and richly designed questions made the viewing experience an enjoyment, which was a result of the careful preparation and hard work of the ASB members.
In summary, this Knowledge Knockout was full of fun and variety, providing participants with a thrilling buzzer-race experience and creating an exciting atmosphere for the live audience. This collision of knowledge and wisdom fully demonstrated the students' spirit and added a vivid touch to ninth-grade campus life.
