Grade 9 Assembly: Drama, Service and a Bright Week Start

May 29, 2026

On May 26, the G9 assembly set a vibrant tone for the week ahead, spotlighting a school theater production now on sale and a massive summer philanthropic campaign for volunteering.

The High School Musical Club opened the assembly with a live preview performance, offering students a sneak peek at their upcoming original musical production. The club announced that tickets are on heated sale for all three scheduled performance dates: May 29, June 1, and June 5.

The Shangyuan Club, a rural education support project and charity organization founded in June 2024, then announced its annual summer volunteer recruitment and charity drive. The student-led initiative aims to broaden the horizons of underserved children in rural Yunnan through interactive summer teaching camps and diverse, interest-based online courses held via Classin during the school year.

From May 28 to May 29, the club will host a booth outside the ZXB for donation collection, volunteer recruitment, and live Q&A. To honor contributors, the club is offering official charity certificates jointly issued by SHSID and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

With the active participation of the ninth graders, this morning assembly not only energized the start of a new week but also brought together the school’s passion for the arts and community service. May every student find their own stage—whether in theater or volunteer work—and make a difference in others’ lives while growing into a better version of themselves.
