Puxi Campus G7: Anti-bullying Education
Last week, the seventh graders explored the topic of "Fighting Bullying in Schools" during the Youth Development classes. For students, bullying is a behaviour that not only undermines an individual's social development and emotional well-being, but also disrupts the overall learning environment in a school, affecting the well-being and safety of all. Anti-bullying education is essential for every student to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment by preventing and intervening in bullying behaviours in a timely manner.
How would you define bullying? What behaviours can you think of that could be called bullying? What does bullying mean to you? The seventh graders began with a lively discussion around these questions. Through the presentations, it was clear that each student had a deep understanding and knowledge of bullying behaviour. The teachers then described in detail several different types of bullying, such as physical, verbal, social and cyber bullying, emphasizing the serious impacts that bullying may bring. So, what effective strategies and self-protection methods should students adopt if they encounter bullying? Through watching the video and analysing real-life cases, we realized the golden rule of getting along with others: "treat others like you want to be treated". When getting along with others, it is imperative to practice empathy and treat them with sincerity.
In the second YD lesson, the students worked in groups to design posters with anti-bullying slogans. Everyone gave full play to their imagination and creativity, using vivid language and graphic images to express the profound meaning behind their slogans, and each poster showed the children's support and determination to fight against bullying.
We hope that students will incorporate the Golden Rules of Human Interaction into their daily lives and build harmonious relationships. Please say "no" to bullying and let's work together to create a loving and caring school!
