2026 SHSID Biology Day Successfully Held
From June 2 to 3, 2026, the annual Biology Day event was successfully held. During the event, four engaging activities combining science and art were rolled out, allowing students to step beyond their textbooks and explore the delicacy of life as well as the beauty of nature.

Pressed Flower Fan Making Activity
At noon on June 2, the first floor of Zhongxing Building was transformed into a hands-on space infused with Eastern elegance. The round fan has long been a refined object in traditional Chinese culture for expressing emotions. In this workshop, teachers and students used pressed flowers and leaves instead of brush and ink, arranging and pasting them onto plain white fans. Each pressed flower fan became both a scientific observation notebook and an enduring cultural heritage.

Biology Word Flash Card
At the same time, the “Biology Word Flash Card” activity unfolded across Zhongxing Building. Puzzle cards featuring biology terms were posted in hallways, on bulletin boards, and by windowsills. Students searched the cards, deciphered the terms, and redeemed correct answers for surprise gifts. They immersed themselves in the hunt, reaping a rich harvest of “bio-knowledge”

Protein Engineers Challenge
During the Protein Engineers Challenge, 10th grade biology students transformed into structural biologists. Using given materials, they built 3D protein models according to specific functional requirements, gaining a hands-on understanding of how amino acids fold into diverse life supporting machines. As each delicate model took shape, abstract textbook knowledge acquired tangible form.

Campus Tour
At noon on June 3, a lively campus tour began. Led by student volunteers, students strolled along campus paths. With the help of a plant identification app developed by student club, they could scan any plant and instantly recognize it. They also listened to fascinating stories about campus landscaping. As they walked, they relaxed their minds and truly realized that the classroom of biology is right here, all around us.

Although the two-day Biology Day Event has come to an end, the curiosity and the joy of exploring biology live on. We look forward to another journey of fun and discovery.
