Stallions Awards Ceremony 2026

On Friday, June 5, SHSID Stallions held the annual Stallions Awards Ceremony, bringing together our high school student-athletes, coaches, and school leaders to celebrate another outstanding year of sport, commitment, and team spirit.



The ceremony opened with a speech from SHSID High School Principal Ma Feng, who congratulated our student-athletes on their achievements and encouraged them to continue representing the Stallions with pride, discipline, and dedication. His words set the tone for a ceremony that recognised not only competitive success, but also leadership, sportsmanship, perseverance, and the values that define the Stallions community.



Throughout the ceremony, each Stallions team was called up on stage to receive team awards and recognition. The teams honoured included Men’s Football, Women’s Football, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Swimming, Women’s Swimming, Track and Field, Tennis, Men’s Table Tennis, Women’s Table Tennis, Men’s Badminton, Women’s Badminton, Rowing, Lacrosse, Darts, Laser Shooting, Squash, and Cheerleading. Across these teams, athletes were recognised for their roles as captains, most valuable athletes, sportsmanship award winners, and most improved athletes.



This year’s ceremony also celebrated two special staff contributions. Mr. Zhuang received the Distinguished Coach Award, recognising his dedication and impact as a coach, while Ms. Qian received the Distinguished Contributor Award for her valuable support and contribution to the Stallions programme.



The ceremony concluded with the Stallions Honor Awards, recognising individuals who made exceptional contributions across the whole athletics programme.


Nicole Jiang from Cheerleading was named Most Improved Athlete of the Year after showing remarkable growth through hard work, focus, and determination.

Nick Sze, representing Basketball and Volleyball, received Sportsperson of the Year for his outstanding sportsmanship, leadership, and respectful attitude across two varsity teams.

Chloe Jiang from Swimming was named Female Athlete of the Year after winning four gold medals at the National U-Series Swimming Championships and setting national U-Series records.

Josh Choi from Football was named Male Athlete of the Year for his leadership, versatility, consistency, and outstanding contribution to the football programme.

Andrea Yang, captain of both Football and Badminton, received the Leadership Award for her dedication, high standards, and commitment to leading across multiple teams while undertaking the IB.



The Stallions Awards Ceremony was a proud celebration of everything our student-athletes have achieved this year. From championship-winning teams to individual breakthroughs, from captains who led by example to athletes who showed resilience and growth, the ceremony reflected the strength of the Stallions spirit. Congratulations to all teams, award winners, coaches, and contributors on another memorable year for SHSID Stallions Athletics.

Andrea Yang - U19 Womens Football and U19 Womens Badminton

Andrea’s leadership has never been limited to one team or one sport. As captain of both football and badminton, she led with dedication, consistency, and exceptionally high standards. From U15 to U19, she helped unite players, strengthen team culture, and grow the girls’ football programme. Even while undertaking the demands of the IB, Andrea never missed training or matches, continuing to lead by example through her commitment, attitude, and responsibility. For her outstanding leadership across multiple teams, Andrea Yang is a truly deserving winner of the Stallions Leadership Award.



Sportsperson of the Year


Nick Sze - U19 Mens Basketball and U19 Mens Volleyball

Nick’s sportsmanship carried over into two different sports. Anchoring the mens varsity basketball team and helping to inject discipline, sportsmanship and leadership into the mens varsity volleyball team.

As the only player in Stallions history to take two different U19 Stallions teams to two SSSA League finals, Nick’s accomplishments speak for themselves.

Nick didn’t let the minutes on the court define him, but rather was defined by his respectful behaviour, attitude and work ethic.



Most Improved Athlete


Nicole Jiang - Cheerleading

Throughout training, Nicole has been hardworking, focused, and consistently committed to holding herself to a high standard. Starting from the basics, she worked carefully to improve every movement, strengthen her weaknesses, and continue developing her technique. Her overall progress has been outstanding, and through her perseverance, effort, and determination, she has shown a true transformation. Nicole is an excellent example of an athlete who grows through dedication and hard work, making her a deserving winner of the Stallions Most Improved Athlete of the Year Award.



Male Athlete of the Year


Josh Choi - U19 Mens Football

Since joining the team in Grade 10, Josh has grown into an outstanding leader, player, and teammate. His attitude, both on and off the pitch, has been exceptional, and he has always put the needs of the team first. Whether asked to play in his preferred role or adapt to a different position, Josh has done so with commitment, maturity, and selflessness. His quality, consistency, and competitive spirit have helped win countless games for the Stallions, but just as importantly, he has set a strong example through his work ethic, respect, and team-first mentality. For his leadership, ability, and outstanding contribution to the football programme, Josh Choi is a truly deserving winner of the Stallions Male Athlete of the Year Award.



Female Athlete of the Year


Chloe Jiang - Swimming

Chloe Jiang represented SHSID with outstanding distinction, winning four gold medals at the National U-Series Swimming Championships in Chengdu. Her performances placed her among the very best young swimmers in the country, as she set two national U-Series records across different age groups, including the 15–16 girls’ 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Her achievements reflect not only exceptional talent, but also years of discipline, commitment, and elite-level preparation. Through her record-breaking performances and proud representation of SHSID, Chloe has set a remarkable standard for Stallions athletes and is a truly deserving winner of the Stallions Female Athlete of the Year Award.
