Lin'gang Campus: Afterschool Clubs

As the semester draws to a close, the clubs at Lin'gang Campus have welcomed their own moments of harvest. From the lush greenery of the Sky Garden to the creative sparks of the workshop, from the hard-fought efforts on the sports field to the quiet concentration over the chessboard – through a full semester of persistence and passion, the children have cultivated a flourishing world of their own.


Gardening Club: From a Single Seed toa Homegrown Meal

This semester, the Sky Garden truly became the children's "secret base." They planted radishes, peas, cucumbers, lettuce, arugula, bell peppers, chilli peppers, and seeds carefully saved from cherry tomatoes. Sunflowers, marigolds, calendula, and mint also grew strong under their care.


From sowing, watering, and building supports to weeding and fertilizing, the children learned to patiently wait for a seed to sprout and to tenderly care for each young seedling. Harvest time was the most joyful of all – they pulled up bright red radishes and picked plump pea pods. One child carefully put some vegetables in a bag, saying he wanted to take them home for his grandparents to cook. Another stood by the garden bed, couldn't resist picking a cherry tomato, wiped it on his sleeve, popped it into his mouth, and said, squinting, "So sweet!"


From bare soil to a garden full of life, the children witnessed the wonder of nature firsthand and learned the simple truth that effort leads to reward.







Creative Workshop: From Fingertips to Heartfelt

CreationThe young designers in the 3D printing club produced an impressive "portfolio" this semester. Keychains, small ornaments, little candle holders – when their virtual models turned into real, touchable objects inside the printer, the surprise and sense of achievement were more precious than any prize. The pottery club children continued to find quiet focus in clay, kneading, shaping, and glazing, feeling the warmth of creation with their hands.







Sweat, Wisdom, and the Stage: Each Shines in Its Own Way

The running club completed its final long run of the semester. No stopwatches – just a group of small figures running against the wind, step by step, covering the distance they had set for themselves. Even when tired, no one stopped. After their last training session, the kayaking club children took a group photo with the wide water as their backdrop. For the third graders about to leave Lin'gang, this was their final paddle on familiar waters – but their love for being on the water will stay with them forever.


The chess club held an intense tournament at the end of the semester. After multiple rounds of play, the champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers were finally decided. When they held their trophies, the calm pride on the children's faces was a light polished by every thoughtful move they had made on the chessboard.


And on Children's Day, the choir and dance club children had already lit up the stage with their songs and dance steps. From the clear voices singing "Greetings of the Four Seasons" to the joyful leaps of "Happy Little Horse," and to the graceful Chinese classical dance performed by teachers and students together, every moment in the spotlight was earned through countless stretching exercises and vocal practices.







A semester is short – so short that it feels like seeds were just sown and now the harvest is already here. Yet a semester is also long – long enough for a child to learn to wait, to persevere, and to create. May they carry this season's harvest with them as they run toward their next passion.
