Since 2021, high school students from Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) have earned three medals in the five International Science Olympiads — Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Informatics. These achievements include a bronze medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 2021, a silver medal at IOI in 2022, and a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in 2026. In recent years, SHSID high school students have also achieved remarkable success in other prestigious international science competitions, including two Grand Awards, four First Awards, two Second Awards, and three Fourth Awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). In addition, SHSID students have received one Global Gold Award, three Subject Gold Awards, two Silver Awards, and five Bronze Awards at the Yau Science Awards for High School Students. In July 2026, Shanghai High School successfully hosted the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

On July 22, Alex from the Class of 2026, who won a gold medal at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), was interviewed by the school Media Group at Xianmian Building. The SHSID community congratulates Alex on this outstanding achievement and wishes him continued exploration and breakthroughs in the field of chemistry. May his passion for discovery inspire more students to pursue excellence.
