2025-26 Recap of IAA Club's Activities
Celebrating a longstanding tradition of diplomacy and academic pursuit, SHSID’s International Affairs Association (IAA) has engaged students in Model United Nations (MUN), an academic simulation of the United Nations, for eighteen years.

Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, the club has represented SHSID at a series of prestigious conferences, putting preparation into practice and consistently earning recognition for outstanding performance. The season brought the IAA to the following conferences, with delegation awards reflecting the club’s strong performance throughout the year:
Dec. 2025: MUN UChicago — Shanghai — Best Delegation,
Jan.-Feb. 2026: Harvard MUN, Boston — Outstanding Small Delegation,
Apr. 2026: Oxford Global MUN-SHSID, Shanghai — Best Delegation,
May 2026: Yale MUN China-SFLS, Shenzhen — Best Delegation,
Aug. 2026: Harvard MUN China, Guangzhou — Best Small Delegation;
Beyond competition, the club seeks to cultivate intellectual curiosity and a more nuanced understanding of international affairs through hosting a variety of activities, such as internal conferences for delegates to practice and strengthen their skills, alongside workshops led by university professors on real-world geopolitical issues. Since its establishment in 2008, the club has provided students with a space to examine world issues beyond the classroom while developing intellectual rigour and interpersonal skills.
As the club enters the 26-27 season, the IAA will remain committed to encouraging its members to approach global issues with curiosity and a global perspective through upcoming IAAMUN (IAA-led internal conference) and various club fairs.
