Friday brings a special time at the Pudong Campus, filled with energy, creativity, and excitement through our diverse range of Friday Clubs. This semester, students can choose from an even wider variety of experiences—from music, dance, and visual arts to building, board games, crafts, history, and digital exploration. Each club offers a unique opportunity to discover new interests and enjoy learning in a different way.

Let Art Become a Way to Create

For students who love color and creativity, Diamond Painting Club, Typographical Painting, Oil Paint by Numbers, and Coloring Club provide opportunities to explore different forms of artistic expression. In 3D Pen Drawing Club, imagination takes shape in three dimensions, while Illustrated Book Making Club and Comic Making Club combine storytelling, writing, and illustration to create original works. Students can also enjoy hands-on creativity through Perler Beads, Paper Folding Club, and Paper Squishy Club, discovering how simple materials can become something uniquely their own.

Build, Design, and Think Like an Engineer

This semester's building clubs are more than just opportunities to construct—they are spaces where ideas become reality. Magnetic Tile Building Club, Lego Club, Lego Building Club, and K'nex encourage students to design, experiment, and refine their creations through hands-on exploration. Starting with a simple idea, students observe, test, adjust, and rebuild as they discover the relationships between structure, space, and design.

Among these, K'nex brings a special STEM-focused dimension to Friday Clubs. Through connecting, designing, testing, and rebuilding, students transform their ideas into three-dimensional creations while exploring engineering concepts, spatial relationships, and problem-solving. Each project becomes a small engineering challenge, encouraging students to think creatively, learn from trial and error, and discover that great ideas often emerge through the process of making.

A Glimpse into History, A Wider View of the World

For students who are curious about history and the world around them, A Glance at WWI offers an opportunity to explore the First World War through its major events, people, and historical context.

Rather than simply memorizing dates and facts, students are encouraged to ask deeper questions: Why did the war begin? How did relationships between countries change? And how did these historical events shape the world we live in today? By looking closely at the past, students can develop a broader perspective and begin to understand the complex connections between history and the modern world.

Think, Play, Explore

Students who enjoy strategy, challenges, and creative thinking will find plenty to explore. Board Game Club brings strategy, decision-making, communication, and teamwork into an engaging environment, while Magic the Gathering offers a deeper world of rules, planning, and interaction. Meanwhile, iPad Adventure turns digital tools into a gateway for exploration and creativity, showing students that technology can be both a tool for learning and a space for imagination.

Find Your Rhythm, Share Your Voice

The stage is also waiting for students who love to perform. Worry-free Karaoke creates a relaxed space where students can simply enjoy singing and expressing themselves. In Dance Performance Rehearsal Club, students turn their enthusiasm into performance through practice, rhythm, and teamwork. For young musicians, Western Instrumental Ensemble offers the joy of making music together, listening to one another, and becoming part of an ensemble.

Small Ideas, Big Discoveries

Beyond art, building, and performance, this semester’s clubs also bring some wonderfully unique experiences. Buttery Biscuit Base offers students a playful and unexpected creative experience, while Paper Folding Club invites them to transform simple sheets of paper through folding, shaping, and imagination. Whether working carefully on a personal creation or experimenting with friends, every club experience can lead to a new and exciting discovery.

Friday Clubs bring an extra sense of anticipation to campus and create more opportunities for students to explore what truly interests them. Here, they can choose their own path, discover new passions through experimentation, connect with friends through collaboration, and build confidence through the joy of creating something with their own hands.

There is more than one way to make Friday special. May every student find something they love, discover joy through exploration, and uncover new possibilities through creativity.
