Lin'gang Campus: 2026 Opening Ceremony

September arrived with soft morning light and a gentle autumn breeze. The children of SHSID Lin'gang Campus returned to their familiar school, carrying stories from their summer break and dreams for the new semester. On the morning of September 1st, all teachers and students gathered together in a warm and spirited atmosphere to celebrate the Opening Ceremony for the first semester of the 2026 academic year.


The ceremony began with a highlight video that brought back the most cherished memories of the previous school year: laughter on spring outings, determination during kayaking lessons, teamwork in friendly football matches, energetic moments on Sports Day, focused faces at the Book Swap Fair, creative sparks at the Science Fair, and the spirit of exploration at the Geo Fair. Each scene was a part of Lin'gang's unique story — memories that gave the children confidence and strength for the new semester.


After the video, Ms. Shi Xiaoting, Director of SHSID Lin'gang Campus, took the stage to host the ceremony and deliver her opening address. She shared her vision for the new semester: she hoped to see more children learning beyond the classroom, discovering the world through running, playing, and staying curious — while also growing with focus and passion. Learning, she reminded everyone, is not just about textbooks; it is about seeing the world around us with open eyes. Her warm and encouraging words lit the way forward for the children.


Following her speech, the teaching teams from each grade appeared on stage to greet their students. With warm smiles and cheerful waves, the teachers sent their best wishes for the new semester. The young audience responded with enthusiastic applause. Then, Ms. Miao Xiaoling, Assistant Principal of SHSID Middle and Primary School, took the stage to extend a special welcome to the new first graders. She encouraged all students to try new things and keep moving forward. From that moment, the companionship of the new semester had truly begun to develop.


The student speech session became one of the most heartfelt parts of the ceremony. Aden from Class 2-2 was the first to speak. He looked back on his growth over the past year — from learning to organize his cubby and carefully copy down homework, to gradually managing his own time. "I used to need reminders from teachers and parents, but now I can do many things by myself," he shared confidently, and many of his peers nodded in recognition.


Next, Natalie from Class 3-2 took the stage as a representative of the third graders, who are now the oldest students at the Lin'gang Campus. She shared her thoughts on becoming an independent learner. "I used to study just to finish tasks given by teachers. Now I ask myself: What did I learn today? What else do I want to know?" She spoke about her goal for the new semester — to shift from external motivation to inner drive. She also welcomed the new first graders: "Welcome to Lin'gang! There are so many fun activities here, and so many surprises waiting for you to discover." Her words were youthful but determined, showing the true face of growth.


After the speeches, the atmosphere rose to a new level of excitement with a lively performance. Muchen from first grade and his sister Moya from third grade — a lovely sibling duo — stepped onto the stage together and delivered an energetic jazz dance routine to the song "Alive." Their smooth moves and bright smiles lit up the stage, drawing cheers and applause from the audience.


Then came the most anticipated moment of the ceremony — the presentation of the "Eight Stars" awards for the new school year. The awardees from each class were announced, recognizing their outstanding study habits, character development, and artistic talents. Ms. Miao Xiaoling presented the "Semester Honor Star" and "Self-Directed Learning Star" awards. As the winners walked up to the stage one by one, their faces shone with pride — a shining moment earned through a full semester of effort.


The joy of the awards was still lingering when Nina from Class 2-1 performed the French song "Vois sur ton chemin." Her beautiful and clear voice ended the ceremony on a warm and graceful note.


A new school year had begun. With the achievements of the past, the expectations of their teachers, and their own inner drive to grow, the children of Lin'gang Campus were ready to start the next chapter. May every student stay curious, try bravely, and discover the best version of themselves — both inside and outside the classroom.
