Grade 10 Assembly: Academic Guidance and Club Recruitment
On September 9, Grade 10 students gathered at the ZXB Theater for the second-week assembly, featuring academic guidance from the Writing Center and lively recruitment presentations from the International Affairs Association and Mock Trial.
The Writing Center teacher opened the assembly by encouraging students to seek feedback early in the writing process. He emphasized that students can bring in anything from initial ideas to rough drafts. Receiving guidance early, he explained, can prevent students from heading in the wrong direction and having to restart their work later.
The International Affairs Association (IAA) then introduced the club through an intriguing act centered on a fictional international dispute over control of Labubus. The creative performance offered students a glimpse into the discussion, negotiation, and critical thinking involved in Model United Nations.

Finally, members from Mock Trial turned its recruitment presentation into a courtroom scene, with attorneys and arguments. The creative performance vividly demonstrated the public speaking, reasoning and teamwork involved in this activity.

Through engaging acts and appeals, the assembly encouraged Grade 10 students to explore new opportunities, develop their skills, and take a more active role in the SHSID community.
