Studying with AI: SHSID High School Division Launches Its First Spotlight Spark Sharing Session

September 16, 2026

On September 15, Spotlight Spark launched its first campus sharing session of the semester in the B1 Atrium of Zhongxing Building. The event opened with a presentation by Grade 12 student Brian.

As a participant in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, Brian has not only developed strong technical expertise in artificial intelligence but has also closely observed the learning needs of students on campus. During his presentation, he identified several challenges students encounter in their studies and introduced SHSID Learn, a learning platform he developed independently. He explained the motivation behind the project, demonstrated its core functions, and explored how the platform could contribute to the school’s learning community.

Through a live demonstration, Brian showcased the platform’s wide range of features, including integrated course resources, AI-assisted practice, personalized learning feedback, resource management, and knowledge sharing among student clubs. He also explained how students could participate in platform testing or join the development team. Attendees were invited to explore resource searching, practice exercises, and learning community interactions, gaining firsthand experience of how AI can support everyday learning.

Brian particularly emphasized that students could upload their original learning materials for review and publication. Privacy-protected statistics, such as view and download counts, allow contributors’ efforts and impact to be recognized.

The session was hosted by Grade 11 student Sophie. In her opening remarks, Sophie introduced the vision behind Spotlight Spark and outlined the program’s plans for the semester. Spotlight Spark is a student-initiated and student-run platform for sharing ideas on topics closely connected to student life and education. Under this semester’s theme, “The Future,” the platform will continue to organize discussions on artificial intelligence, technological development, digital literacy, and related topics. Sophie also encouraged more students to become guest speakers and share their ideas, experiences, and achievements with the school community.

The event deepened students’ understanding of the educational applications of artificial intelligence and encouraged them to consider how technology can improve the learning experience while contributing to a collaborative campus knowledge ecosystem.
