​Grade 11 Parents Meeting：Nurture the Future Together, Accompany Growth Hand in Hand

In the refreshing autumn air, Grade 11 students have embarked on a new journey in high school. To better build a bridge for home-school communication, SHSID Grade 11 held a parents' meeting on September 22. The meeting was divided into two parts: the first was a gathered lecture in the auditorium, and the second was communication with homeroom teachers in small group. The meeting was hosted by head teacher of Grade 11, Ms. Zhang Yueyue.



Mr. Ma Feng, Vice Principal of Shanghai High School and Principal of SHSID High School, was the first to speak. Centering on the school's core educational philosophy and against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, he discussed with parents the key areas for Grade 11 students' growth and development. Mr. Ma said that Grade 11 will be a critical year for students to shape independent thinking, strengthen academic foundations and build a framework for future development. He also introduced the school's high-quality faculty and mature educational system, drawing on the school's college admission results over the years and its educational strengths.



High School Vice Principal Ms. Zhang Li, then shared her insights. She covered academic performance, standardized tests, extracurricular activities, research projects and the college application timeline. Ms. Zhang highlighted the abundant resources the school provides for college admissions, such as admissions information sessions, personal growth courses and one-on-one college counseling. She advised preparing application-related matters as early as possible, making good use of school resources and forming a home-school partnership to support children's growth.



Afterward, Mr. Michael Haig, Vice Head of the High School English Department shared our school's English teaching system, related resources provided by the English Department and the school's goals for English learning. He noted that students should actively embrace challenges and communicate with teachers so that they can further tap into their potential and prepare for future academic development and personal growth.



After the grade-level group presentation, parents went to students’ respective homerooms to meet with the homeroom teachers. The focus of the class discussions was college counseling and university application preparation. Teachers emphasized that while maintaining strong academic performance, students should continue to explore and develop their interests and passions through courses, projects, and extracurricular activities. Homeroom teachers also outlined the year's college application-related tasks on a monthly basis.




This parents' meeting gave parents a more comprehensive and clearer understanding of the school's support in educational philosophy, academics and application preparation. Let us look forward to continued collaboration between home and school in the years ahead and to all our students embracing their aspirations and growing every step of the way toward higher education.
