Grade 11 Assembly: Psychology Club and Summer Life Sharing

September 29, 2026

On the morning of September 24, SHSID Grade 11 students gathered in the auditorium of Xianmian Building for the semester’s fourth assembly. After the host finished the daily announcements, the presentation session officially began.

The first speaker was a representative of the Psyché Club. As a psychology-oriented club, Psyché aims to spread awareness of mental disorders. To achieve this goal, members write articles, host lectures, and organize volunteer sessions with local autistic children. In addition to discussing mental disorders, the club also strives to popularize various psychological phenomena and theories, such as the placebo effect.

Next, Zoe from 11(1) briefly introduced her summer vacation. She summarized her entire journey as “worked hard, played hard.” During the first two weeks, she attended the Economics, Business, and Finance (EBF) course at University of Cambridge. The intense classwork, combined with overlapping summer homework deadlines, allowed her to experience high-intensity university life in advance and improved her time-management skills. Moreover, the range of extracurricular activities and formal dinners also provided her with insights into Cambridge’s unique college culture, adding memorable highlights to her academic schedule. In the following two weeks, she traveled to various destinations in France for an artistic journey, visiting Monet’s Garden, the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, and more. She said that this journey provided her with intense academic training as well as a source of artistic inspiration.

The passionate presentations by the two speakers fully demonstrated their passion and pursuit in different fields, offering students suggestions for enriching both their campus and off-campus lives.
