Stallions Shone at the 54th SNAG Juniors Meet in Singapore
Between March 8-10, a group of 12 elite Stallions swimmers attended the 54th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships Juniors 2024 held at OCBC Aquatic Centre in Singapore. Singapore's best swimmers aged 8-12 competed along with SHSID students together with other Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and Indian swimmers. These swimmers took the competition to new heights and even among fierce competitors from all over the world, the Stallions achieved excellent results with three golds, three silvers, and thirteen 4th-8th place finishes under the leadership of the coaches for a total of 21 top sixteen placements. The three gold medals were also the result of breaking three records in the 8-years-old female group!
Despite the intense competition, hot weather, and long flights, the Stallions continued their enthusiasm and excitement in travelling and competing. In the weeks leading up to the competition, they practiced extremely hard after school and even during the winter holiday as they improved on stroke techniques as well as sprinting and stamina. Most swimmers arrived in Singapore one day early and warmed up in the pool in order to get familiar with the competition venue and perform optimally in each event. In the three-day competition, our young athletes went into full throttle mode and displayed their best performance.
Soon after returning to Shanghai, our swimmers returned to the pool with increased confidence and responsibility as a Stallions athlete to train hard, improve, and go all out for the next challenge. Go Stallions!
