Grade 11 CAS: Childhood Memories

March 8, 2024

On March 6, the 11th graders engaged in a childhood-themed activity during CAS class. Many of the classes started the activity with a guessing game where students were given a childhood photo of their classmate and tasked with guessing to whom the photo belonged. Some classes took a step further, allowing the students to share some of their childhood stories with their classmates and some background context for the presented photographs. As the students actively tried to guess who the small child in the photo was, they also busily indulged in some of their favorite childhood snacks prepared by the eleventh-grade teachers and their peers.

After the rounds of guessing were over, the students took another dive into their past by playing childhood games with their friends. From the classic board game Monopoly to the more physically active Ring Toss, the students engaged in numerous games, all of which reminded them of the joys they felt as children. While these games evoked nostalgia in many students, they also allowed them to form new memories to reflect on moving forward.

Although the activities the students engaged in as children may not resonate with them in the same way as they used to, they nonetheless will continue to reside in their memories and constitute a part of who they are. Providing the students with both an opportunity to bond with their classmates more deeply, the CAS activity truly brought out many joyful smiles.
