Grade 12 CAS: Fun Sports Activities
In early March, Shanghai revitalized as the temperature gradually warmed up. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the 12th-grade students gathered outside the Xianmian Building on the afternoon of March 6 for their CAS class, experiencing a variety of fun sports activities.
There were four activities in this event: jump rope, big footboard, the Magic Brush Ma Liang, and step-by-step. In the jump rope activity, each class sent out ten students in a line, collectively completing 200 jumps to succeed. After a brief trial and coordination run, the students quickly mastered the skill and completed dozens of jumps in a synchronized and agile manner. Their faces were filled with excitement and joy, while their bond within the class also became tighter.
The big footboard activity attracted the attention of most students. Through a relay race in male-female groups, students needed to coordinate with each other to ensure all four moved together to succeed. In the beginning, many students struggled to lift their feet due to unfamiliarity. As they gradually gained confidence and stability, with the chant of "right, left, right, left," the students smoothly advanced towards the finish line.
The Magic Brush Ma Liang activity involved students using ropes to stabilize a giant brush, requiring them to write idioms through the manipulation of the ropes. Though the once nimble pen felt cumbersome, the students did not give up. Through verbal and manual coordination, they successfully wrote multiple complex idioms via brush strokes. Although the writing may not have been perfect due to the difficulty, the shared glory made everyone feel proud.
The most memory-testing activity was the step-by-step project, where students had to remain silent throughout and find the correct squares in a 4x4 grid. This reminded the students of their childhood days of hopscotch, evoking feelings of nostalgia and warmth, while also challenging them to use their brains to find the quickest solution.
Amid joy, the students spontaneously used the leftover chalk from the step-by-step project to draw adorable patterns. As 12th-grade students about to graduate, they surely can harvest intense happiness and precious memories in the final moments of high school, recording them not only with chalk and photographs, but also eternally preserving them in their minds.
