March 1, 2024

On the morning of February 20, the high school STEM advisor, Mr. Liao Hui, introduced a number of high-impact STEM activities to the 10th-grade students. Mr. Liao emphasized that tenth grade is the best time to explore interests and introduced several events in detail. Mr. Liao encouraged students to seize the opportunity to choose appropriate activities based on the solid completion of academic learning in school, and to continue to gain experience from participating in activities to enrich their growth path.

In order to provide a strong and firm impetus for students to focus on their aspirations and achieve personalized development, SHSID offers a series of PBL courses for students to choose from, and on February 27, Mr. Liao introduced again the PBL courses for this semester. These include cultural courses such as Making Intangible Cultural Heritage Chinese Dessert, Fundamentals of Protection and Restoration of Ancient Ceramics, and Chinese Culture Tours, as well as interdisciplinary courses that integrate knowledge of math, physics, and chemistry. He also specifically recommended the Bel Canto and singing of German and Austrian art song courses. In addition, the courses cover a wide range of areas such as economics, art, and skill development. At the end of the presentations, Mr. Liao encouraged everyone to try more things that interest them, cherish their time in 10th grade, and maximize their enjoyment of high school life by exploring areas of interest while taking academic factors into consideration. It is believed that after the two presentations, the students had a deeper knowledge about the choice of extracurricular activities and the choice of PBL courses, as well as further thoughts and ideas about their future choices.
