G11-12: Lantern Festival Celebration Activities
On Wednesday, February 21st, the SHSID juniors and seniors participated in an exciting activity filled with traditional Chinese riddles in celebration of Lantern Festival.

The riddles contained questions immersed with wordplay, classical idioms, and also mysterious prompts that referred to fruits, objects, and animals. Classmates raced against each other to seize the top 3 spots, with the succeeding competitors receiving special gifts! Additionally, homeroom teachers distributed sweet rice balls to all of their students, allowing all students to celebrate regardless of them competing or not. The students walked out from the last period filled with laughter and joy, as well as having experienced the diverse intricacies of Chinese culture.

However, the festivities were not over yet! On Wednesday, the teachers arranged various bookmarks containing Chinese riddles on the walls of the Xianmian Building. In this riddle hunt, students who solved 15 riddles correctly could exchange special gifts/prizes from the building’s reception room, causing the bookmarks to be solved and taken from the wall mere moments after having been arranged. Furthermore, lantern riddles were placed at the Xianmian Building during lunch on Friday, with students solving one of the difficult lantern riddles receiving freshly-made sweet rice balls, while also enjoying a carefully prepared live singing performance by their classmates. The melodious singing filled the air, conveying the joy and reunion of the Lantern Festival.

With a fervent display of celebration and education, the Lantern Festival activity became a memorable occasion set deep into the hearts of the participating students.
