Chemistry Teachers Discussed New Semester Initiatives
On February 16, 2024, the chemistry teachers gathered in room 205 of Xianmian Building to discuss the work for the new semester. The seminar introduced a new ceramics course aimed at integrating chemistry with art, allowing students to understand the chemical processes involved in ceramics production through hands-on practice. The Chemistry Department also was to implement interdisciplinary case studies to help students explore the connections between chemistry and other subjects, enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Grade 12 senior project was another key topic discussed during the seminar. This project will provide Grade 12 students with an opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a chemistry-related topics of their choice, fostering their independent learning and research skills. Finally, the teachers were encouraged to observe each other’s classes and share lesson examples, creating a more inclusive and effective learning environment for all.
