Grades 9-10: 2023 Field Trip
The weather finally cleared up after a succession of rainy days. On the afternoon of December 20, 2023, the homeroom teachers and students in the ninth and tenth grades commenced their excursion to Jinjiang Park. Upon their arrival, the students proactively prioritized their activities during the visit, with the goal of maximizing the use of the limited two-hour time.
Participating in pendulum and wave rolling were the two most popular activities among students. The manifestation of fear led to the formation of prolonged queues at the entrance. The sensation of extreme speed, the perception of reversal during rolling, and the sense of weightlessness when suspended in the air collectively contributed to the long-awaited excitement and satisfaction experienced by students. The Water rafting had traditionally been a favored attraction for theme park visitors, especially among students. The pleasure derived from splashing water and the cooperation with peers, which facilitated the smooth navigation of the raft, would also serve as a joyful representation of their friendship.
The most notable attraction in Jinjiang Park was undoubtedly the Shanghai Ferris Wheel, which stood as the tallest and most prominent feature that visitors should not be missed. The carriage gradually ascended along the extensive wheel frame, unveiling the splendid panorama of Shanghai in its entirety, thus creating a visually striking experience. The multitude of towering structures in the vast distance symbolized the vibrancy and advancement of Shanghai as a super metropolis, set against the intricate and bustling network of roads and winding rivers. Upon reaching the summit, one could only encounter a profound sense of human insignificance and the vastness of the world. The harmonious incorporation of natural scenery and cultural artifacts enabled individuals to appreciate the magnificence of life and the universality of the world. In summary, this activity had the potential to provide a deep and lasting experience, extending beyond simply a smile.
The visit to Jinjiang Amusement Park offered students an opportunity to unwind and take a break from their academic pursuits. The successful conclusion of this event signified the final group activity of the semester on a sunny December day, creating a cherished memory in the hearts of the students.
